My Princess Asmi turns 1
Dear Darling Asmi,
Happy birthday to the sweetest one year old doll. There is no right word to express my happiness on this day. It’s my little girl's 1st birthday! And it seems just like yesterday when we all which means 100 plus family members got together to welcome you into our lives.
Each day in the last one year has been so precious and exciting seeing you grow up into a darling toddler. The 25th of every month has been a day of celebration for us, a day to look back on the month gone by and marvel at those little changes which came into you and your lovable actions. And today as the first year has gone by - your turning on your back, sitting, crawling and then standing - each time we saw you on our weekly visits we found you so loveable and couldn't keep our eyes off you. Infact we didn't even want you to fall asleep.
As the year progressed we celebrated your mundan ceremony in which your lovely smooth and heavy tresses said a temporary goodbye and all of us felt so sad . They were the best hair a child in our family has been born with. Your papa and tauji were born totally hairless. But we are all so thrilled that now you have the same curly hair back.
The same day you formally started eating and it was your annaprashan when you got to eat kheer made out of rice and mumma's milk. And you initial lick with surprise and a frown was followed with licks and million dollar smiles. So what if it didn't have sugar, it was different from milk which was your only food till then.
Your first Diwali came and tau & tai came specially from Mumbai with a very pretty lehnga. You looked such a darling in it.It was the first time four generations in our family celebrated a festival together. A day we will remember all our lives.
And yesterday just a day before your first birthday your toothless smile became a thing of the past when a little tooth popped out. You are the first again to have a tooth on the first birthday. Both Papa & Tauji were toothless on their first birthdays.
You bring us so much happiness every single day. We wake up to the beautiful thought of speaking to you on the video call your Papa & Mumma connect specially for just our time with our baby doll. The moment you see us and smile on the phone you just melt our hearts. We keep asking you the same questions every day- Asmi doggy kaise bola-bow bow, Asmi catty kaise boli - meow, Asmi kauwa kaise bola-kao kao & Asmi kaise boli-Pappa Mumma. You must be really thinking that these two I see on the phone every day keep gurgling the same sentences daily. But the truth is that the smile and laughter which are your responses to our bow bows and meows are so precious that we love being dog, cat, crow, engine and everything under the sun for you. When you dance at my singing ABCD to you it makes my day, however busy and tiresome it might have been. When we ask you to do namaste and you get your hands together and your lovely bye with both the palms really make us forget everything else . You are my stress buster darling.
You are the darling of not just Papa-Mummy but of tau-tai and baba-dadi also who will pamper you to bits . You are the cynosure of all our eyes and the focus of all our conversations. Your first birthday is falling at a time when the complete world is locked down and we will miss being with you, seeing you cut your cake and have fun with you all but you Papa-Mummy will ensure that we get to see you celebrating your first birthday virtually. Our blessings and love are always there and you will forever be the apple of our eyes.

How beautifully penned down maam...Asmi probably as you grow up we or precisely I will be able to tell you how excited your grandma was much before your arrival... the shopping the plans everything was surrounding you though you were still not born... and when you entered their lives you just completed her.... god bless you with loads and loads of smile, love and happiness..
